Datsun Roadster Sports Fairlady
The Datsun Fairlady, also known as the roadster, was in production from 1959 to 1970. Positioned as a cost-effective alternative to British MG and Triumph sports cars, its design exhibits noticeable similarities. The SPL310 models, particularly those from 1963 onward, are personal favorites. The final iteration, the Datsun 2000, boasted impressive performance, achieving a top speed of 193 kph with 150 bhp, while maintaining efficient fuel consumption.

The Datsun Sports, known as the Datsun Fairlady in Japan and Australia, was a series of roadsters manufactured by Nissan during the 1960s. Serving as a precursor to the Z-car in the Fairlady line, it presented a formidable competitor to European sports cars such as the MG, Triumph, Fiat, and Alfa Romeo. The series comprised two generations: the first, which was predominantly handcrafted in limited quantities, and the second (310 series), which was mass-produced. The second generation was introduced in 1961 and continued until 1970 with the 310 and 311 lines. In Japan, it was one of three primary products offered by Nissan at Japanese Nissan dealerships, alongside the Datsun Truck and the Bluebird (1000). The second generation Fairlady, recognized as the Datsun 2000 in export markets, was a two-seat roadster featuring a robust 1,982 cc overhead cam engine with dual SU type side-draft carburetors and a five-speed transmission. Notably, actor Paul Newman initiated his racing career in one of these vehicles.
